Interesting Cultural Beauty Tips

How Fascinating.... I never realized that THIS actually happened.
Damn!... It just looks like it would be so annoying and painful.... You wouldn't catch me sticking a prongy thing in my eye-socket for beauty sake.

I actually had cosmetic surgery done to one of my eyes to get that effect (it didn't take, unfortunately.) Only one of my eyes is double-lidded, so I wanted the other one to match.

It looks crazy, but if you're a girl growing up with a mother who keeps telling you that you need double-lids to be pretty, you do crazy shit like that to yourself.

I was 18 when I had that surgery - in my old age, I've determined that if anyone is ever going to cut me open again, it had better be to save my life. Surgery isn't enjoyable and I can think of better uses for my money instead of fixing a physical feature that masks a psychological flaw.

I watched the beginning of that video and then I realized that something bad was going to happen, and I stopped. I can't STAND anything poking at my eyes. I fear the optomitrist like some people fear the dentist. I won't even use eyelash curlers.

Its such a shame about the overabundance of "faking yourself" that goes on out there. I mean, honestly, The Asian eye is the Asian Eye!... why would you want to make it any different.. - In whose opinion is any type of physical modification for vanity sake worth such a hassle, or even worse to put yourself thru cosmetic surgery that could seriously harm you after it is all said and done.
I guess I just don't understand the need to look so stereotypically perfect and spend so much time and money doing it.
great point there Karen..."Surgery isn't enjoyable and I can think of better uses for my money instead of fixing a physical feature that masks a psychological flaw."

Aviatrix... I hear ya... that made my eyes water just seeing the prongy thing. I have a hard enough time putting soothing eye drops into my eye, let alone a freakin pitchfork and glue.

Hi maddy,

Nice of you to drop by!
I agree, we all are beautiful as we are....all these fake boobs, fake faces, modified noses everywhere.... I think cosmetic surgery becomes like an addiction after a while. once you fix one flaw, you want to fix them all - then you look like Micheal Jackson!
